Crazy Days are here again!
Wow, what a great time to be a Craft Brewer.
I love it when we get busy in the Brewery. This week: Raley Field Brewfest on Friday night. This is Northern California’s Premier Beer event! All the best breweries will be present. Saturday we debut at the West Coast Brewer’s Fest. We took a few awards at the professional judging for this event. Old Town Brown took a well deserved 1st place in the Brown Ale category! What a refreshing award. A mild ale @ 3.8% took top honors. Could it be that “session” ales are coming into fashion? I hope so. Gold Digger IPA, Scarlet Harlot, Kilkenny Irish Stout, and Fool’s Gold Ale all took thirds in their respective categories. It’s good to be AAH! Sunday is the Auburn leg of the AMGEN bike race that passes directly in front of the Auburn Alehouse. Should be a hoot! We are BBQ’n on the patio and will be perched high above during the quick pass of human-powered bicycles.
Next week: I’ll be representing the AAH in the Hangtown Motocross Classic on Thursday (amateur day) in the …er, uh..40+ b class. Saturday the 22nd is the Pro race and we are working hard to be able to pour some “bootleg” Alehouse beers and watch the fast guys! Look for us near the Roseville Yamaha camp…
Wednesday night (5-11) @ 5pm we will tap a Cask of Old Town Brown ( 2010 front runner @ the West Coast Brewer’s Fest, Brown ale category) with Mt.Rainer hops added to the cask post fermentation! A treat for certain.
We are expanding our off-site beer distribution to hand-picked taverns and restaurants that respect and appreciate Craft Beer that is produced locally! Let us know if your favorite watering hole fits that criteria! Look for us in “better beer” locations near you.
Lastly, the first batch of 2010 Miner’s Wheat Ale will be ready to enjoy by the end of May. With this Ale, we welcome the warmth! This year’s MWA will be filtered for a crisp, snappy, refreshing profile. Summer in a glass. Get some!
