Dublin and Bray
Hey Americans!
I think we should all salute the under-appreciated fact that we have road signs at the intersections of all (okay most) of our roads! You see, here on the Emerald Isle, signs and street names are a mere luxury! The exception being if you are a pub and happen to serve Guinness (definitely well signed)! And speaking of Guinness….well, let’s just say it is better over here, because…well… you’re over here! What a great beer. Right now, navigator Lisa and I are in Bray at the Porterhouse Brewing company which has a Pub (no brewery here), a night club and an Inn. We are in our room, at the top floor, overlooking the ocean drinking a Porterhouse Red Ale. Yes Virginia, it is nitrogenated! Most all good beer here is. I guess the biggest turn-off so far is that quite a few Dubliners enjoy Bud, Coors light and even Miller GD! Hello…Mr. Lager boy! Grow some taste buds!
Sunday, which won’t happen to you until our’s is almost finished, we will be on the road ( left side clyde) en route to Wexford, which is home to my Grandfather’s maternal line of Kin. From there we are headed to Killkenny which is home to Smithwick’s brewery and a monastery and a few castles. From Killkenny we’ll drive back south to Cork and spend a few days roaming around, with Kinsale brewing company a sure stop.
Check in with you soon!
